Programs

Our trainings aim to improve the economic opportunities for adult refugees and immigrants while promoting English language acquisition (ELA) and digital literacy proficiency. Courses are delivered using a remote or a hybrid (blended) learning model.

ESL Digital Literacy

This class is for: Adult refugees and immigrants

Class length: 4-8 weeks

Class Overview: Our primary concepts include Computer Hardware Basics, Computer Software Basics, Internet Basics, Email Basics, Google Meet, Google Drive, Google Docs/Sheets and Online Safety. We incorporate both oral and written communication into each class and introduce new vocabulary while promoting hands-on learning. The course consists of 16 hours of live training. In addition, students receive custom created videos texted to their mobile phone that present concepts from class. This allows students to practice English language terminology specific to digital literacy and review material at their convenience. Participants have access to practice assessments to gauge their understanding of the material and use of computers.

ESL Financial Literacy

This class is for: Adult Refugees and Immigrants

Class length: 5-9 weeks

Class Overview: Financial literacy focused on providing  ELA participants with the knowledge and guidance they need to foster greater financial well-being and empower each to work toward financial self-sufficiency and security. Our goal is to provide participants with financial literacy skills necessary to help them make informed decisions about money matters. Our training empowers participants to have the knowledge and tools to make sound decisions regarding their short, and long-term financial goals and enabling more to fully participate in the economy.

ESL Cashier and Money Handling

This class is for: Adult refugees and immigrants

Class length: 5 weeks

Class overview: Our primary concepts include oral and written communication for cashiers, reading for cashiers, math skills and money handling for a cashier, understanding the Point of Service system, managing time and creating a safer work environment. The course consists of 20 hours of live training, including an orientation for each participant. In addition, students receive custom created videos texted to their mobile phone that present concepts from class. This allows students to practice English language terminology specific to the job market and review material at their convenience
